Chair Sherman responds to Brewer on fast track methodology
He says the list is based on charter methodology applied without exception, notes development is happening on Upper West Side, and mentions MIH and HPD tools.
Sure.
So, Councilmember, thank you for, and I know your frustration.
I am beyond pissed.
I understand that.
As I noted before.
We developed a list based on a methodology that's consistent with the charter.
It is applied without exception across all community districts.
So how are you going to implement on the west side when there's no land?
So I will note that development is happening on the Upper West Side.
Where?
Give me an example.
There are development projects happening on that.
Yeah, and Edith is not helping us with the ABC land.
You want 2.4 acres, no help from HPD or the city to get it to be affordable at a reasonable rent, and he wants to build bigger than the entire state building.
So, again, I just want to note that...
Where development is happening, there are tools that we can use like mapping, mandatory inclusionary housing, so that new development activity is subject to a requirement for affordability.
We can also, again, explore where the HPD financing tools, for instance, could potentially be utilized.
I've heard it all before and I never get any help.
