Council Member Brewer introduces Landmarks portal, small business fines, and gambling study bills
Council Member Gale Brewer introduces Intro 1132 for a Landmarks Preservation Commission public records portal, Intro 1133 for a stipulated fine program for small businesses, and a bill for a study on gambling behaviors and casino impacts. She also introduces resolutions on cryptocurrency kiosks and anti-aging product warning labels.
Councilor Brewer and final is Wilson.
Thank you very much.
I'm introducing intro 1132, a public record portal for the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
38,000 landmark properties every year and there's no portal where members of the public can access all of the records and there are 12
thousand applications, so we need the portal.
Number two, 1133, the stipulated fine and commercial abatement program needs to apply to small businesses.
We know that large businesses get a stipulated
abatement program for their fines and we wanted to apply to the smaller stores and we have some ways of doing that.
Last year collected 58.3 million for 776,000 fines.
Number three is a study of gambling behaviors and the impact of casino
Openings, getting the Department of Health and Mental Health to study gambling behaviors and the impact of casino openings.
Two resolutions, one to regulate cryptocurrency kiosks and another one to require anti-aging.
Products to contain a warning label and we have a list of those that should be included and there's a resolution in Albany regarding the same topic.
I hope you sign on.
Thank you very much.
Thank you, Council Member.
