Goodwin outlines plans for new programs and white papers
Goodwin says DOP is looking at new programming, including partnerships like Emerge, and will issue white papers with community organizations. She says programs should allow clients to finish certifications at their own pace and explore fields like AI and IT.
So what I'd really love is if you and your team today could help us walk through
what are the plans to restore each of those programs or alternatives that you're pursuing so that we can get DOP to be making a difference again to help keep young adults out of juvenile detention.
I want to say that it is our goal to be innovative and bold and bring probation back to its glory.
The second is that the programs that are no longer at probation,
I've met with a lot of different community-based organizations, and what I've said to them is that we may not be able to bring it back, but what we can do is develop new ones, older ones.
And we have...
Enough experience to learn about what worked and what didn't and what we can add to programming.
So we are looking at putting out different white papers, working with the organizations to like bring back different innovative programs such as working like with the program like Emerge.
The clients have a
opportunity to work at their own pace.
