Chair asks about construction contracts below goal
Won notes only eight of 83 construction contracts reported progress, and six were below the 30% goal. She asks what OCH and DDC have done. Harry says many contracts are incomplete and hiring needs vary by project stage.
Okay.
In OCH's most recent quarterly report, only eight of the 83 construction contracts reported any progress.
Six of those eight were below the 30% community hiring goal.
What have OCH and DDC done about the contracts below the goal, and how many of the other construction contracts have begun their work?
So I don't have all of the information of exactly where each of these contracts are.
Many of these contracts are not complete right now, right?
And so the hiring needs are different and the goals are different.
And especially in the construction trades, it's different types of job opportunities that might be on the project later in the project versus earlier, right?
You're not painting the building until after you build it kind of thing.
And so we will continue to work with the agencies, work with those vendors, and work with our partners in labor for PLA contracts to make sure that we are meeting hiring goals.
Because it was very early on, we are heartened to see that there is progress already towards those goals based on the data that we've been able to have.
And we will continue to monitor those contracts and work to make sure that the vendors are meeting their goals or making best efforts at least.
Okay.
