Banks asks about public housing liaison role and staffing
Banks asks about the public housing liaison role since 2021, who the liaison is, how many staff support them, and how often they engage with DFTA and NYCHA. McKenzie says a senior director serves as NYCHA liaison with two or three support staff. The liaison meets biweekly with NYCHA, and senior leadership meets quarterly.
Since 2021, the designated liaisons have handled the OAC complaints.
Can you please describe the role of the public housing liaison in this process?
Who is the public housing liaison?
How many staff support this liaison?
And what offices does the liaison regularly engage with within DFTA and NYCHA and how often?
Well, on the DFTA side, we have a senior director assigned to the role of liaison for NYCHA, and there are approximately two or three people that support that role
along with the senior director.
That senior director now is also joined by many members of leadership at DFTA because we do have those two meetings now.
One that is a senior leader meeting along with the senior leadership at NYCHA.
And then that secondary meeting that takes place every two weeks with the liaison between NYCHA and our senior director.
