Banks asks what repair requests DFTA handles

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 1:09:48 · 19 sec

Banks asks for clarity on what requests are handled by DFTA. McKenzie says DFTA handles minor repairs inside the unit, not capital needs or building systems. She gives examples like a broken doorknob or painting a wall.

Chris Banks

Well, what requests are handled by DFTA?

Chris Banks

I just want some clarity on that because I didn't get it.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

Anything that would be considered inside the unit and a minor repair.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

We don't handle anything that's a capital need.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

We don't handle anything that has to do with the building system.
