Trimble and McKenzie dispute finger-pointing, describe coordination
Trimble says she is troubled to hear providers report finger-pointing and says the relationship with NYC Aging has never been stronger. Staff meet every two weeks with a shared tracker and make site visits. McKenzie says providers are pleased with open, collaborative talks and know they can lean on NYC Aging.
Thank you, Council Member.
I'm definitely troubled to hear that you're hearing that from providers.
I can commit that our relationship with NYC Aging has never been stronger.
Our staff meet every two weeks to review a shared tracker of repair requests.
We've both been making site visits to centers.
There's never been better communication, so we work hard to make sure providers know where to go to find answers, to make sure that those repairs are logged.
As you know, with our residential repairs, sometimes it can take a while to complete the repair, but there should be no question as to whose ball the court is in.
So can you give us a break?
In general, NYCHA does work that is related to the building systems, and the providers are responsible for all work inside the center.
And we do provide additional support for the providers as well.
I meet with them on a monthly basis.
In addition to our tour where we're out in the site with our providers asking questions about the maintenance or any issues that we pick up while we're there.
So from what I've heard thus far from our providers, they're very pleased with having these very open, collaborative.
Talks and they know they can lean on us if they
I do need any additional supports, and I think we have an excellent framework together with NYCHA now to be able to address anything that is considered a concern.
So I'm surprised to hear it as well.
All right.
