Encarnación raises concerns about meatless meal options
Encarnación says she is glad NYC Aging is looking at meatless options because seniors in her district do not go to centers on meatless day. She says the alternative options are terrible. McKenzie says older adults have been vocal and some travel to sites serving meat, so NYC Aging wants to meet their needs at preferred sites.
And just I'm really glad to hear that you're looking at the meatless options.
The seniors in my district cannot, they don't go to the senior centers when it's meatless day.
And the options after that is terrible.
So just.
I'm glad you're looking into that.
Well, thank you so much.
The older adults have, again, been very vocal about that, and they've also shared that they will find sites where meat is being served, and some of them may go there that day.
So we really want to be sure that we're meeting their needs at the sites they prefer.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We have Council Member Abdul have questions.
I'm so sorry.
Before that, I just want to correct.
The contracts are for three years, and they have an option to extend year by year.
