Q&A

Ossé asks about mold inspections at OACs

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 1:54:03 · 45 sec

Ossé asks how often mold inspections occur at older adult centers. Trimble says NYCHA inspects based on a mold request work ticket and will provide the response timeframe. McKenzie says DFTA does surface inspections during environmental checklists but asks NYCHA to confirm mold.

Chi A. Ossé

And furthermore, how many rounds of mold inspection take place, or how often does the mold inspection at our older adult centers?

Eva Trimble

We will inspect based on a mold request work ticket.

Eva Trimble

So if the center submits a work ticket to NYCHA for mold, we will come and we will do that inspection.

Eva Trimble

I don't have the time frame to respond, but I will get that for you.

Chi A. Ossé

Does the Department of Aging do that as well for OAC?

Lisa Scott McKenzie

It would be a surface inspection during our environmental checklist if there were mold or any material that we find that needs to be investigated.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

We wouldn't determine that it's mold.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

That's something that we would ask NYCHA to do.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

All right.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

Thank you so much.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

Thank you, chairs.

Susan Zhuang

Thank you.
