Restler asks about pause on council allocations for NYCHA capital projects
Council Member Lincoln Restler asks about the status of a pause on council allocations for NYCHA capital projects a few years ago. Eva Trimble calls up Deputy Chief Asset and Capital Management Officer Abigail Fradkin. Fradkin says NYCHA is accepting all council capital funding now; a temporary pause due to staffing shortage has been resolved.
Thank you so much, Chair Zhuang and Chair Banks, for this important hearing.
Good to see you, Chief Operating Officer and Commissioner.
Appreciate you guys being here today and for your hard work.
Could I just get clarification?
There was a pause place.
on council allocations for NYCHA capital projects a few years ago.
What's the status of that?
Yes, thank you.
I'm going to call up our Deputy Chief Asset and Capital Management Officer, Abigail Fragkin, to talk about that.
Thank you, Council Member.
We are currently accepting all funding that the City Council is able to provide for capital work at NITRA, including older adult centers.
There was a temporary pause on projects that had previously been funded due to a staffing shortage, and we've been able to restart all of those projects and are currently accepting any funding that is available to us.
