Zhuang asks about process for a leak in a NYCHA OAC
Zhuang asks what the process is if there is a leak in a senior OAC in a NYCHA building. Trimble says providers first file a work ticket through NYCHA's Customer Contact Center. NYCHA sends a maintenance worker to assess; roof or major pipe leaks are NYCHA's responsibility, while leaks inside the center are the provider's responsibility.
If there's a leaking in senior OAC in NITRA building, what's the process?
Thank you, Council Member.
So when a provider has a condition in their site, their first step is to put in a work ticket through our CCC, our Customer Contact Center, and then NYCHA will send out a maintenance worker to assess the condition.
As I mentioned in my testimony,
External conditions such as the facade, roof, and major building systems are typically the responsibility of NYCHA.
So if the leak is caused by a roof issue or major pipe issue, leak from above, which is very common in our buildings, then it will be NYCHA's responsibility to fix it.
If it's a leak underneath the sink or something within the center, then it is the provider's responsibility to fix it.
So if the maintenance worker comes out and determines it's something that we will fix, then we will typically sequence it to our skill trades and start working on the repair.
