Zhuang asks about process for opening a new OAC in NYCHA property
Zhuang asks who makes proposals and how NYCHA is looped in when opening a new OAC in NYCHA property. McKenzie says all centers are contracted through an RFP process, and NYC Aging has an OAC RFP scheduled for later this year. New sites would follow the same RFP and contract process.
Can you describe the process for opening and operating OAC?
Located in NITCHER property.
Who make the proposal and to who?
And how the NITCHER looped in that process?
What is the timeline for proposal to opening?
I'm sorry, Council Member.
Are you referencing a new center, opening a new center?
Yes, new center.
Any center.
If you open a new center, who you are proposed to?
Well, all of our centers are contracted, and that's usually in response to the RFP process.
As you know, we have an OAC RFP that's scheduled to come out perhaps later this year that we're discussing.
But for any new sites where we deem there may be the need for a new site, we would have to follow that same process, the RFP process, then a contract process.
So I'm assuming then that it would be NYC Aging.
