Chair Farías asks about doula working group meetings and recommendations
Farías asks whether the doula program working group meets every six months. Greysock says DOC participates at least twice yearly and has adopted recommendations on doula programs and support persons during birth.
The city's administrative code created the dual program working group.
Under law, the working group is required to meet every six months.
Has it been meeting that frequently, more frequently, less frequently?
Yes, thank you for that question.
We are part of the...
birth support working group.
We meet at least, we join a group at least twice a year and it's been wonderful to be part of that group and get feedback and continue to work with our partners.
And what have been some of the recommendations the working group has made to DOC and have any of them been adopted?
Yes, absolutely.
So in their recent report, they talked about ensuring that we have a doula program, which we have a really successful doula program.
They talked about ensuring that we allow for a person to have a support person during birth, which is part of our policy and it's part of our process.
So we've continued to work with the group to make sure that all the recommendations are being implemented.
Is there a public place I can look at those recommendations or are those internal?
The group has published the report, yes.
Would you mind sending that over?
I believe it's publicly available.
Yeah, I'll look for it, but it'd be nice if you have the direct link.
