Chair Farías asks DOC to provide written restraint policy
Farías asks DOC to verbalize and send the current written policy governing restraints on pregnant people. Chard says the policy aligns with state law and exists in general and pregnancy-specific policies, and will confer internally about sharing it.
Just a question, some questions around restraints.
Can we verbalize the actual current written policy that's governing restraints on pregnant people and DOCs?
Can you give us the written policy?
What is the current written policy?
Meaning what it's called?
How it's framed?
The verbiage?
I believe that the verbiage generally is in alignment with the state law and the SCOC outlines.
It occurs in a couple places, both in our general restraints policy, but also there is a specific policy in relation to pregnant and postpartum individuals, just so that it's clear and everyone receives the training regardless of where they're from.
Can you send us that policy after this so we can read it?
I can confer internally.
Yeah, thank you.
