Epstein asks how much NYC Care treatment is remote

New York City Council · Oct 28, 2026 · starts 0:47:20 · 38 sec

Epstein asks how much NYC Care treatment is delivered remotely and what share of patients requesting remote care don't receive it. He notes lower-income patients with multiple jobs face time constraints.

Harvey D. Epstein

Yeah, thank you for your time.

Harvey D. Epstein

I appreciate it.

Harvey D. Epstein

Can I just ask you about how much of this treatment is remote?

Dr. Ted Long

Is remote.

Dr. Ted Long

We can pull data on the proportion there of telehealth.

Dr. Ted Long

It's not a very big number.

Harvey D. Epstein

Yeah, it'd be great to know.

Harvey D. Epstein

And what percentage of people request remote treatment?

Harvey D. Epstein

and aren't getting that kind of remote treatment?

Harvey D. Epstein

Because we've heard from people, obviously because of family and work, as we said with our colleague, child care, the time that they need to be able to get to medical appointments is really limited, especially people who are lower income who have multiple jobs.

Harvey D. Epstein

I'm wondering what H&H is doing to make sure that people have access to remote care.
