Felder questions H&H on Maimonides absorption and Medicaid rates
Felder raises H&H's proposed absorption of financially distressed Maimonides Medical Center and asks whether it would become an NYC Care provider, the added uninsured volume and cost, and whether projections will be shared. He offers to receive answers in writing.
Thank you.
So I'm going to do the same thing that my colleague did.
I'll mention a few questions at once.
So H&H is currently pursuing the absorption of Maimonides Medical Center.
I just wanted to make sure you're aware of that.
Which is reportedly financially distressed, and that's been one of the reasons of the change.
H&H has made my money's future financial stability contingent on being able to collect enhanced, I underline that, Medicaid reimbursement rates.
Hundreds of thousands of recipients in NYC, New York City, may no longer be eligible.
NYC Care does not replace the Medicare reimbursement lost when a patient becomes uninsured.
So the following three questions.
Would Maimonides become an NYC care provider under the proposed takeover?
Two, what will be the additional uninsured patient volume and cost?
And does the financial plan for my modity?
patients moving from Medicare coverage to NYC care?
And finally, will you provide the council with projections showing how NYC care and hospital services at Maimonides would be protected if those payments
or Medicaid enrollment declines?
I just want, I don't want to feel like I jammed you with something that really wasn't on the agenda for the hearing.
So if you want to, you know, get me the information, you know, and give it to the chair as well, you know, in writing, you know, hopefully
expeditiously, I would be happy.
If you want to answer me, I'm happy as well.
I'm just, no, I mean that seriously.
I don't want to feel like, you know, you were here, so I got you, you know, that's all.
