Narcisse asks how H&H monitors language barriers; Long on no-show rates
Narcisse asks how H&H monitors whether language barriers contribute to missed appointments or lower utilization. Long says H&H examines no-show rates by population and hasn't seen noteworthy trends, and describes MyChart scheduling.
How does H&H monitor whether language barriers are contributing to missed appointment, delayed care, or lower utilization of services among New York City care members?
So the main way that we look at that is through our no-show rates, and we break it down by population and see if there are any trends that we've seen.
This is something that we continually monitor.
I haven't seen any trends that would be noteworthy to be responsive to your question.
But we do look very carefully at how our patients are making appointments, whether they come or not, if it's based on how long the appointment was scheduled out for, if it's based on whether
we allow you to schedule through MyChart, so you can log on to MyChart and make your appointment with me as a new patient or existing patient directly on MyChart.
So we look at the no-show rates there.
So we have different ways of looking at it, and it's something we'll continue to look at going forward.
