Narcisse asks if resources can meet demand; Long on OMB talks
Narcisse asks whether H&H has the resources to meet the coming demand. Long says H&H is in constant communication with OMB and expects NYC Care to expand, with coverage disruption creating fluctuating enrollment.
So do you believe that we have resources to meet the demand that's coming over our head?
So the resources for NYC Care, we are in constant communication with OMB about the money that we're spending, the money that we need both for NYC Care and for us as a system.
But we anticipate the NYC Care program is going to expand.
I think I just want to emphasize one of the things that you said earlier.
It's not just going to expand in terms of people permanently enrolling in the NYC Care program.
What I think is going to happen is you use the words coverage disruption.
I think that's going to be what happens.
So it's going to be a complicated protocol of we call you, talk to you about recertification, talk to you about work requirements, works for some people, others fall through the cracks, maybe for two months.
But in that period of time, we'll enroll you in NYC Care.
Then maybe you enroll back in Medicaid.
But it's going to be a lot of this like,
fluctuating types of coverage that people have.
So we see that coming as part of this crisis from a mile away, which is why we're making sure that we have a strong contact center, a strong financial counselor team, things like that, so that whatever happens to you, the bottom line is you'll never lose your doctor and you'll always be covered in our system.
