Q&A

Restler asks about ballot-question public-notice changes and ad revenue

New York City Council · Oct 28, 2026 · starts 0:51:57 · 45 sec

Restler asks whether reduced public-notification requirements in ballot questions could hurt local outlet ad revenue. Sidahmed says he is not familiar with the issue and will follow up.

Lincoln Restler

The last question for me is that are you concerned that the decrease in public notification requirements proposed in the ballot questions is going to significantly impact

Lincoln Restler

ad revenue for local outlets?

Lincoln Restler

Have you looked at this?

Mazen Sidahmed

I'm sorry, I'll have to follow up with you on that.

Lincoln Restler

Have you heard from community and ethnic media publications about this and how this is going to impact their revenue?

Mazen Sidahmed

As I mentioned, I have to follow up with you about that, and I'm not familiar with it, and publishers haven't reached out to me about it, but it does sound like something I'd be very interested in learning more about.

Lincoln Restler

Okay.

Lincoln Restler

I am really looking forward to working together.

Lincoln Restler

Appreciate a fresh perspective and some integrity in this office and, you know, excited for the work ahead.

Mazen Sidahmed

Thank you so much, Council Member.
