Chair Stevens Questions Attorney Capacity and Changing Federal Policies
Chair Althea Stevens asks how MOIA is working to build capacity for immigration lawyers to navigate rapidly changing federal policies.
Um in terms of uh adult literacy, um, I'm sorry I didn't uh I think some of these questions probably for DYCD, but I'd like to know if Moya is advocating uh for the new proposal around the 20 million dollars uh for um the called the education for integration and equity program, um an important allocation.
I'd just like to know what those conversations have been like.
Yeah.
We have been in touch with and have received a proposal that was been put out for the 20 million.
Um, I think you see some folks in the space who are here now.
Um, and um we have touch space with DYCTs, but those on conversations are ongoing.
I don't have anything like new to share, but happy to um we will be listening in to the DYCD hearing as well.
As you know, adult literacy is very important to Moya and connected to the language justice work that we're doing generally, um, but that's what I have to share right now.
