Aldebol asks about new career track in Fellowship
Aldebol asks about the new customer service and community engagement track; Otar says it was created based on agency needs for outreach roles.
So back to the Civil Service Pathways Fellowship.
In 2026, DCAS added a new career track to the fellowship offerings, which is customer service and community engagement.
Can you tell us more about that career track?
Yes.
So one of the things that we do when we are looking at the programs that we offer and where the city's needs are,
and, you know, the Civil Service Pathway Fellowship is one of the ways that we address, like, the hard-to-recruit titles or the areas where we need to have a pathway into those vacancies.
And so through conversations with agencies and their needs, we learned that there was a need to have something that is specific to folks that are engaged in outreach, community outreach, community engagement.
And so we worked with our internal partners to make sure that there was an opportunity for individuals who were specifically going to school, are interested in working in those pathways,
have an opportunity to participate in the fellowship and eventually, you know, have opportunities to be hired full time into those positions.
