Aldebol follows up on completion percentage and reasons for leaving
Aldebol asks what percentage complete the program; Otar says 76% transition to full-time, and reasons for leaving vary, including fit and other opportunities.
But my question is a little bit different.
How many of those who enter the program actually come?
What percentage?
actually complete the program.
I understand that people that complete the program, 76% of them stay in civil service or in public service.
So of course, program completion.
How many, you know, what percentage actually completes the program, finishes the two years?
Yeah, so that's the completion.
So the completion is that the person ended at two years and then they go into full-time positions.
We don't really see folks that complete the program.
That's the last Senate, right?
The people that complete the program and then decide, hey, I don't longer want to stay within city government.
So it's going to be roughly the same percentage.
And what do you think almost a quarter of the program completers do not enter city government?
Why do you think the program completers don't, a quarter of them don't enter city government?
I'm sorry, can you repeat the question for me, please?
Why do you think it's almost a quarter of the program completers do not enter city government?
Do you know why?
Do you have an understanding why?
Do you survey them?
It could be for a variety of employment reasons, right?
Sometimes individuals are going into a particular position or working with a particular agency.
So sometimes just like any career move that individuals make, they may decide that this position isn't right for them or
because of the employment practices and the needs of the agency, it may be that the person is not ideal for that position.
We don't currently survey the individuals that leave the program.
That is something that we can definitely look into to find out exactly why it is that they're leaving the program.
