Hanif asks about curb cut complaints and case breakdowns
Hanif asks how many complaints CCHR has received about inaccessible sidewalks, blocked curb cuts, or public right-of-way barriers. Kamuf Ward says CCHR does not have that number and will circle back, and says CCHR can provide some breakdowns of reasonable accommodation versus other claims.
And then a point that was
made a comment that was made earlier about curb cuts I wanted to come back to because curb cuts certainly are an issue of disability and discrimination and thank God for disability advocates for fighting for curb cuts.
How many complaints has CCHR received regarding inaccessible
sidewalks, blocked curb cuts, or other barriers in the public.
Right of way.
So I don't think we don't have that number with us today.
I think often when a complaint is coming to us, like it could be because a street is blocked for something like open, you know, open streets where people can't get into their houses.
But I'm not familiar with how many curb cut cases have come to us.
I don't know if you know anecdotally.
So we'd have to circle back to see if we have that data.
Got it.
And just to clarify, you all, there are buckets of issue areas.
That you're going to be able to share with us on what kinds of cases are being handled at the moment, whether it be about...
You mean within the disability space?
Yes, within the disability space.
Yeah, we'll be able to do some breakdowns of reasonable accommodations versus other claims at a certain level of granularity our system can't report out, or we'd have to run a manual tabulation of all of the cases.
So we'll circle back.
So we will certainly follow up again.
