Q&A

Hanif asks what requests come through MOPD hotline and forms

New York City Council · Oct 16, 2026 · starts 0:28:38 · 33 sec

Hanif asks broadly what requests MOPD receives. Morig says the bulk of inquiries relate to housing, including physical accessibility and eviction threats, and MOPD generally refers those to CCHR.

Shahana K. Hanif

And then broadly, could you share what requests are coming through the hotline number and the forms?

Belkis Morig

Yes, the bulk of the inquiries that we get are related generally to housing.

Belkis Morig

Housing tends to be, you know, the most challenging area for New Yorkers with disabilities.

Belkis Morig

Often, you know, the questions are, you know, a combination of physical accessibility or housing discrimination.

Belkis Morig

Someone's facing eviction because of their disability or that sort of thing.

Belkis Morig

And we generally refer those directly to CCHR.
