Dinowitz asks DOE about civics budget and professional learning
Dinowitz asks how much DOE spends annually on Seal implementation, per school, and per recipient. Veve says the overall civics budget is $3,001,659, with $1.6 million for participatory budgeting and $861,770 for professional learning.
You mentioned training a lot.
Can you please share how much DUE spends annually to support implementation of the CO,
the cost for participating school and per CO recipient, and the breakdown of the budget for the CO, including professional development?
So we don't break down our budget by the seal as it's part of our larger effort around civics for all.
So we can tell you that the overall civics budget is $3,001,659.
$3,001,659.
Of that.
You know, I'm laughing because that's very specific.
It's very specific.
Okay.
Of that, and I think this might give you a more clearer sense of how that goes directly towards the seal,
is that 1.6 million of that is sammed out to schools for participatory budgeting.
And that is one of the projects that can be used, one, for civics for all experiences for students, but also to be counted towards SEAL.
How much of– I didn't mean to interrupt.
Go ahead.
And then professional learning.
That was, yeah.
Yeah.
So the professional learning isn't necessarily, we don't break it out specifically to like these are SEAL
professional learning versus our overall professional learning for civics, which is inclusive of professional learning for districts and schools that are implementing the SEAL.
And for that, we spend $861,770.
Specific again.
I like it.
A nice round number.
How many cents?
No cents.
Okay.
