Veve describes goals and measures of civic learning
Veve says the goal is high-quality civics education for every student K-12. She measures impact by access to curriculum, annual speeches on community issues, participatory budgeting, and civic action projects.
We measure our impact by accounting for students'access to opportunities to build civic knowledge through our Civics for All curriculum materials,
demonstrating civic skills by researching, writing, and delivering a speech each year on a community issue that matters most to them, practicing real-life democracy,
by engaging in participatory budgeting and engaging in civic action projects at least once per grade band.
While the seal of civic readiness is an exciting and worthwhile way to honor our students'civic readiness upon their graduation, it is not the sole marker of civic learning.
Many more of our public school students are receiving comprehensive civics education across grades K through 12 than have already received the seal.
