Maloney asks who oversees Skyport seaplane base
Fredrickson says the seaplane base is part of the DOC NYC public piers program; the operator ensures licenses and SOPs; EDC oversees the contract.
I have a second round of questions focused on seaplanes.
I want to get into the oversight and accountability aspects, specifically who at EDC is responsible for overseeing the Skyport Marina seaplane dock on the city's behalf.
Thank you.
So the seaplane base is part of the city's public peers program called DocNYC.
So it's that same operator that also manages and ensures that all the necessary licenses and checks are in place for each of the seaplane operators.
There's also a standard operating procedure that they publish that all seaplane users, and in addition to all Coast Guard regs and FAA regs, they follow the protocols or the SOP of the third-party seaplane base operator.
So what does EDC itself have direct oversight over versus delegating to Billy Bay Marina Services or Doc NYC?
So we oversee that contract.
So we have a
oversight over that contract.
We both competitively procure it and have the ability to reassess at certain periods of time and there's ongoing engagement and checks with them as well.
